Bosbury Children Delight in Easter Bonnet Parade!

We were very eggcited indeed to be able to hold our biggest school event since the first national COVID-19 lockdown twelve months ago, as Bosbury School pupils brought a smile to the faces of our neighbours in the village by parading around the village sporting their many beautiful and varied Easter-themed hats and bonnets made during their latest piece of creative homework!

After a quick pose on the playground and outside the school gates with their colourful and varied Easter-themed headwear...

... it was off for a lovely walk around the local vicinity and nearby housing estate to delight our neighbours with our seasonal headgear in what must have been the largest crowd of people they had seen for many months. Even for the socially-distanced adults at Bosbury, it felt like a very strange yet very refreshing experience!

After a spell of prolonged chilly weather, we were very lucky that glorious morning to have some warm sun shining down on us, which had the effect of casting some very odd-looking shadows on the ground! We were quite surprised coming back down through the village as well to have some equine friends join the parade! In what seemed like years, we were nearly approaching a carnival-like atmosphere!

Some of our designs were so ambitious that they took a fair bit of adjusting as we strolled around the village, and no prizes for guessing which designs won the 'Tastiest-Looking' and 'Most Original' awards! We were amazed that none of the assorted chocolate treats which comprised the young man's hat below melted in the warm sunshine, and we thought that a ghost from Scooby-Doo had wandered into school that morning until we realized that it was a very creative 'hard-boiled' effort from another brave young man in Class 3!

Well done to all of the children (and no doubt many busy and creative parents and carers too!) on such a wonderful array of Easter and spring-themed designs, and thank you to all of the villagers of Bosbury who came out to wave at our parade from a safe distance. We hope we brought bit of cheer and joy to you all during these still very unique and challenging times.

Please see below for a full gallery of the parade. Thank you also to our ICT consultant Mark Sanderson who filmed the event to be incorporated into our big Easter Eggstravaganza video which can be viewed HERE. Happy Easter everyone!
