Physical Education (PE) at Bosbury
Physical Education (PE) at Bosbury CE Primary School
At Bosbury Primary School we believe that Physical Education and Sport have a vital role to play in the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of children. Physical Education and Sport are important in giving children the knowledge, understanding and the tools to make informed choices about healthy living and have a positive impact on their own health and well- being.
Our curriculum aims to improve the physical and mental wellbeing and fitness of our children, not only through the sporting skills taught, but through the underpinning values and disciplines PE promotes, preparing them for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life. We aim to equip our pupils with a multitude of sports-specific skills including attacking, defending and tactical awareness which can be carried through their sporting journeys. We have high expectations of our pupils and seek to provide them with an extensive range of sporting opportunities throughout their time in our school. By educating children how, not only to keep active, but also how to eat a well -balanced diet is key to setting a strong foundation for a healthy future lifestyle.

The Bosbury School Partnership with Kidderminster Harriers
Bosbury School has strong links with Kidderminster Harriers, and each week we welcome a sport coach from the club - Mr Duffet. Mr Duffet delivers PE lessons across the week to each class.
The Kidderminster Harriers mission statement:
“Kidderminster Harriers Football Club proudly provides the best school sport delivery in Worcestershire through our experienced, passionate and high quality sports coaches. Our club prides itself on being the leading football club in Worcestershire and recognises the importance of working closely with our partners in the community. Our aims are to provide the very best learning environment for all our participants where every individual can develop their physical skills, appreciation of a healthy lifestyle and enjoyment of leisure activities. We work with participants of all abilities to provide a number of sporting opportunities and pathways across a wide range of sports.”
Our pupils are also brilliant sports journalists as well as fantastic sports stars, and love writing their own reports following tournaments which they have taken part in - visit the Pupil Sport Reports section of the website to read them!
